Author Interview with James Newman

Image
I recently had a chance to sit down with author of Midnight Rain, Holey Rollers, Ugly as Sin and several other outstanding works.  And by sit down, I mean the way most conversations take place these days - online. I think this is about the third time James has allowed me to pick at his grey matter a while and it's always a pleausure to say the least.  This time we discuss things such as his newest edition of Animosity, his direction towards film adaptations and the one snack food he can't live without. Without further ado, click here for your fly on the wall access as hosted by Hell Notes. James Newman Interviewed.    For more about James and the dark musings of his unflinching pen, you can check out his author site here .

Richard Matheson's Leave Yesterday Alone: book review now live

Image
Recently live on Hell Notes is my review of Richard Matheson's final recently unpublished novel Leave Yesterday Alone and Musings . The novel is a glimpse back to Matheson's early years as a writer and although his health took him away from For the full review just click HERE . Musings provides insight into Matheson's private reflections on his work and the world around him.  It's unfortunate that a bad back and declining health kept him away from expanding on his diary, but that will hardly take away from the enjoyment of this newest offering from Gauntlet Press. Editor of Gauntlet Press, Barry Hoffman, was also kind enough to let me corner him and pick his brain in which he shares his own reflections on working with Mtheson over the year and about the legacy he left behind.  You can check out the interview HERE . As always, thanks for stopping by.  Stay hungry... and stay dark.

Gifted Trust by John Paul Allen - Interview and book review

Image
I recently had the pleasure of not only reading a fucking fantastic novel that hit all kinds of nerves, but I also had the chance to sit down (virtually speaking) with author John Paul Allen regarding his novel Gifted Trust.  By no means was it an easy novel to read if only because of its brutally honest portrayal of some pretty dark subject matter.   Thanks to the folks at Hell Notes, you can see exactly what I thought of John Paul Allen's first novel with this review HERE. And when you're done checking that out - After ordering or downloading the book, I hope - you can chill out with the author and myself as we discuss the finer points of John Paul's gift to the darker side of the human condition HERE .  Until next time, thanks for reading, and stay dark. For more of John Paul Allen;s muse, you won;t go wrong starting HERE.
